GENERAL CHAIRMAN LETTER

Dear Fiddlers and Accompanists:

This year’s contest will be held June 18-23, 2007.  The enclosed information is important to the success of your contesting
experience and we suggest you READ THIS LETTER AND THE CONTEST RULES IN THEIR ENTIRETY.   We do
not want anyone to be caught unaware.

We would like to welcome our new Executive Director, Karen Penner. She was formally our Administrative Assistant and
Certification Chairman.  Please be sure to drop by the office at the high school and introduce yourself to Karen during the
contest.  She would love to meet you.

The following is a list of the categories, age limits, and the dates the first rounds will be played.  To help you with your
planning, a tentative schedule of rounds is enclosed with this letter.  Each Division Champion will be showcased at the
opening of the following nights’ contest and each night thereafter.

Senior 60 to 69 Monday, June 18
Senior Senior 70 to over Monday, June 18
Grand Champion Open to Anyone Monday, June 18
Adult 37 to 59 Tuesday, June 19
Small Fry Under 9 Tuesday, June 19

You must check in by 4:00 p.m. prior to the day of the first round of your division.  Contestants must sign in 30 minutes
prior to beginning of each round in the warm up room.

In anticipation of a large number of returning fiddlers this year, we are forced to limit registrations in all divisions.   This
will allow us to stay within the time frames mandated by venue restrictions.  We will be taking registrations until a division
is full.  If your registration was not received prior to the division closure, you will be added to a waiting list for possible
cancellations.  If you are waiting to compete in a certified contest before registering, be aware that
being certified does not
guarantee you will be registered for a contest division. You must register.  You will be guaranteed a spot in the Certified
